How do I tell a girl in the gym to leave me alone without hurting her feelings?

@jeannie36 You should find the business card of a random personal trainer (personal trainers have business cards right?) and the next time she asks you a question give her the business card and walk away. SAVAGE

@jeannie36 Tell her I think you could really benefit from a trainer. You want to make sure you don’t injure yourself and I’m not trained to correct form because everyone’s body is different.

There. Bam! Done

@jeannie36 You could just tell her "sorry but I dont go to the gym to socialize, I just wanna finish and leave". Then pop a small smile and continue with your workout.

@jeannie36 I am not the best at being assertive and telling someone to just leave you alone , but I will always mention my husband (he’s my bf). Tell her next time you don’t want to give her the wrong tips as your not even training your gf and that will creep it into the convo ....

@jeannie36 I’ve been in the girl situation . And when I see that the dude isn’t interested I just leave him alone. Body language says a lot .

Maybe just say to her “ ask the trainers they know more than I do”.
“ sorry I’m short on time. I really need to finish this workout”

@jeannie36 The headphone trick is gold. I listen to audiobooks at the gym so instead of saying you need to get back to your workout just say you're trying to listen to your reading for class, sorry!
Or the next time she approaches you with headphones in just smile and nod but keep working out.

@jeannie36 I know lyings bad, but maybe next time she’s asks about a certain form say something about how your girlfriends really into working those certain areas and then to make it less obvious end it with ‘she watches a tonne of YouTube videos to help’.

@jeannie36 TELL HER YOU HAVE EARLY STAGES OF MS AND NEED TO CONCENTRATE ON YOUR WORK OUT .
AND DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT AS YOU HAVE A COUNCILLOR FOR THAT.

PLUS YOU ARE A VERY PRIVATE PERSON DUE TO YOUR BIPOLAR......

No offence to any one with these conditions, I have ms and my brother had bipolar.

@knowhisjoy77 I’m sorry darl , I’ve had ms since I was 18 and seizures since I was 30.

Now I’m 42 and my brain is messed up .

I really was wrong and I do apologise greatly.

Good luck with this lady .

Maybe do talk with her and you may become firm friends.

My little brother did get bipolar from trying drugs but sadly passed away six years ago from acute myeloid leukaemia.

@jeannie36 Just be honest, explain that you’re here to workout and you’re getting distracted with the questions, someone who’s more experienced might be able to help her better.

@jeannie36 "you seem like a nice person, but I come to gym to work out and socialising distracts me"

She will either ask you out "No thanks"

or leave you alone.

@jeannie36 Tell you sorry but you just want to get your workout done in solitude. Then put your above-mentioned headphones back in and go in with your workout.

@jeannie36 In this situation what I would do is A) start going to the gym at a different time, or if that's not possible B) start going to a different gym.
