I did GtG with weighted dead bugs for 3 months and got a lot of core strength gains

@dawn16 I just tried it with 5 lb dumbbells and I felt some pretty intense core burn after ~5 reps per side. YMMV but I wouldn't try it with much more weight than that.
 
@dawn16 That's an excellent video, thank you for sharing! I'm trying to strengthen my core by doing hollow body progression every day. My lower back arches as soon as I lower straight legs and I think adding dead bugs will really help. This video is great. Why not do the whole session.
