@jonjones229 Wouldn't Tia, knowing she is in the lead, waiting for Hailey Adams to finish shoulder to overhead before starting her next round of muscle ups count as the "not giving full effort" rule? I would think yes - "I have such a huge lead I can sand bag it and conserve energy but still maintain my lead".

@mikelore that rule is to keep someone like Noah from capping out once everyone else is done and they are left still on the field... not someone who is competing still...

@mikelore Strategy and tactics for winning the event. The fact that she built her lead to the point where she can implement her strategy and tactics means she's given the right amount of effort in my mind.

@mikelore I thought the same thing, but I think it would just count as strategy. Why not take every chance for rest that you can get? Clearly she is giving more effort than everyone else to take the lead. I imagine the rule is to prevent what Moorad did when he just did the work requirement and then walked off the field.

@hbyej60 Wasn't Moorad injured? I'm assuming you're talking about last year's games?

@jasonrporter0316 yeah, but he still cruised in last rather than withdrawing to let another uninjured athlete actually compete. Not saying what he did was right/wrong, but I'm sure they want to prevent that again because it doesn't make for great TV.

@hbyej60 oh yeah, that's fair. i think those cuts were bs in general, but I agree. he should have withdrawn.

@mikelore I’d say it’s more tactics and having rest. I think full effort rule applies to people who are 5th place and everyone else finished just not bothering to save energy.

@mikelore I don't think taking a break really comes into it. A lot of athletes have planned breaks in their workout.

It's more of a don't completely stop trying rule (example like Katrin on pegboard controversy years ago) and not being able to just drop it because you're in last

Kari and Haley legit do not know how to use the erg. Kari leans too far back, handle all up in her face, legs track out, breathing is off. Haley doesn't straighten her legs, rows with her back.

Brooke is already broken mentally, and Kari just isn't on the same planet as Tia. Katrin looked like shit but with her history I'll give their the benefit of the doubt. Haley is a kid and having fun.

@holly957 Watching Brooke lose that was painful. She thought she had 4th place locked up and could meander through the lifts without a gut check.

@holly957 Yeah this is it isn’t it? Wells looking pretty down on herself at the end there.. just doesn’t have a winners mentality, pretty disappointing.

The race for 2nd in either field is where it’s at! 1st is set in stone.

They just can't do it. I don't know why.

@jonjones229 Both 1st place finishers failing a push jerk on the last set. I think this workout was beautifully programmed for both Men and Women.
